Talk on Dental Awareness

Rotary Club, Ludhiana Greater and Indian Dental Association, Ludhiana organised a Talk on Dental Awareness in school today. Dr. A.B.Thomas (Principal, Christian Dental College) and Dr. Rajan Jairath (Orthodentic) were the resource persons. Dr. Rajan Bir Thind (Secretary, Rotary Club, Ludhiana Greater) , Dr. Mrs. and Mr. Ramesh (Eye Surgeon), Dr. Jaidev Dhillon ( President, Indian Dental Association Ldh. Branch) and Mr. Amanpreet Singh (President, Rotary Club, Ludhiana Greater) were also present.

Dr. A.B.Thomas delivered an informative lecture about the best way to maintain oral hygiene. He made the children aware about the dental problems. He apprised the students of the precautions to be taken and told them the importance of timely treatment. He also created awareness regarding dental sealant and how it helps in preventing caries.

Dr. Rajan Bir Thind conducted an interactive session with the students and in a playful manner explained the do’s and dont’s of maintaining healthy teeth. Later, a dental checkup of U.K.G. students was also carried out by the team of doctors. Properly sterilized instruments were used for the purpose.

The Principal of the school, Mrs. J.K.Sidhu extended her thanks to the team of doctors and emphasized the need to organise such programmes from time to time to increase the health awareness among the children.
