Knitting is a canvas for creative souls. Apart from enhancing creative skills, hand-knitting helps in improving concentration, patience and mental alertness among children. With a purpose to encourage the students to develop their interest in this art, ‘Vardhman Spinning and General Mills Ltd.’ organised second phase of ‘Aao Bune Knitting Contest’  on 23-01-15 in school. Mr.Harish Bhatia, Vice President (Marketing), Ms.Charu Gupta and Ms. Gagandeep, Executive (Marketing) and Ms. Ritika, Executive (Sales) at Corporate office, Ludhiana were the guests of honour. Around 450 students from 32 Schools of Ludhiana district participated in the contest. The children could be seen working enthusiastically on fabulous knitting patterns on socks, sweaters, caps etc. These wonderful designs reflected their talent, creativity and confidence in the true sense. Knitting Kits were given to all the participating students and trophies were presented to the participating schools. Seven students from the classes VI-X each were selected to take part at state level competition and certificates were awarded to them. The Principal of the school, Mrs. J.K.Sidhu appreciated the endeavour of the students and said that sincere efforts must be made in order to revive this creative art.
