In order to commemorate the birth anniversary of Sh. Srinavasa Ramanujan, who was a great mathematician and who made extra-ordinary contributions in the field of mathematics, the school celebrated GANIT (Growing Aptitude in Numerical Innovations and Training) week from 16^th to 22^nd December, 2014.  The motive was to make the otherwise tough subject more interesting and to reduce the phobia of understanding it. The school organised a lecture for the senior students by Prof. (Dr.) G.S.Sandhu who has authored 32 books and is presently working as Prof. in Mathematics and Head of Computer Science Department at SCD Govt. College, Ludhiana. An essay-writing competition was organised for the classes V-XII. A film produced by ‘Vigyan Prasar’ was also screened for the students. ‘Origami’ and ‘Poster-making competition’ were conducted for the junior students. The children could be seen working enthusiastically on the projects assigned to them. The Principal of the school, Mrs. J.K.Sidhu appreciated the endeavour  of  the teachers  and stressed upon the need to organise such activities on a regular basis in order to remove mathematics phobia from the minds of the students.
