Musical taste buds of DAVians soaked themselves in the rhythm and melody that flowed from the Sitar of Gaurav Mazumdar who was accompanied by Sovon Hazra on the tabla.

Gaurav Mazumdar belongs to a family of musicians from Allahabad, and was trained by his father Dulal Mazumdar, a sitar maestro himself. Pt. Ravi Shankar discovered his talent and guided him to become an accomplished musician. He has performed in Asia, Africa, America and Europe with and for Pt. Ravi Shankar.

The event was organized in collaboration with SPICMACAY that aims at keeping Indian art and music alive amongst the next generation. Gaurav Mazumdar, a performer composer and educator answered the queries of audience on various ragas and kept them mesmerized through wonderful tunes played by him on his sitar. Sovon Hazra with his beats on tabla produced a musical harmony to leave the audience craving for more.

Principal Mrs. J.K Sidhu thanked Pt. Gaurav Mazumdar and Sovon Hazra for their highly enriching, soothing and interactive session and Mr. Atul Talwar – coordinator of SPICMACAY Ludhiana chapter for providing this wonderful opportunity to the staff and students of the school. She urged the students to take refuge in music to check their impulses and soothe their troubled nerves.
