India since long has paid reverence to its elders and it is a value that makes India unique. Today the students of D.A.V. Public School , B.R.S. Nagar, Ludhiana had the proud privilege of witnessing screening of ‘Nanha Farishta’ in the school auditorium that made them aware of the futility of ‘Old Age Homes’, as the presence of elderly at our home guides us on the righteous path.
Mr. Darshan Arora, Chairman Ludhiana Citizen’s Council and his team were present during the screening of the film, to provide a connect between the younger and the older generation. Mrs. Mamta Ashu, Councilor, w/o Mr. Bharat Bhushan Ashu, was also present among the dignitaries. The movie touched the sensitive theme of alienation of the elderly at our homes that is responsible for waning moral values amongst the youngsters.
Everyone was emotional seeing the plight of the deserted elderly compelled to spend the twilight years in the old age homes and the youngsters vowed to give them their due place in the family and recognize their contribution in shaping our destinies.
Principal Mrs. J.K. Sidhu thanked the members of Ludhiana Citizen’s Council for sensitizing the students on an important issue and thus preparing a generation of responsible and aware youngsters.
