Capacity Building Program(Day 2)
Event Start Date : 30/05/2025 Event End Date 30/05/2025
The second day of the Three-Day Capacity Building Program (CBP), hosted at DAV Public School, BRS Nagar, Ludhiana under the aegis of DAV Centre for Academic Excellence, New Delhi, proved to be an inspiring and action-oriented journey for educators across PB Zone-F.
Building on the momentum of Day 1, the focus on Day 2 shifted from conceptual understanding to practical implementation of 21st-century teaching strategies. Around 222 teachers from various DAV institutions continued to actively participate in the subject-specific training sessions in English, Mathematics, Physics, Political Science, Music, Dance, Nursery, and EEDP-1.
A defining feature of the day was the activity-based and experiential approach adopted by the master trainers. Teachers collaborated in teams to co-create lesson plans, simulate classroom settings, and apply strategies like Enquiry-Based Learning, Project-Based Learning, and Art Integration. These sessions emphasized how learning can be made more engaging, inclusive, and student-centric.
For early childhood and primary educators, sessions revolved around the developmental importance of circle time and story-based instruction. Teachers explored ways to incorporate Foundational Literacy and Numeracy (FLN) into everyday routines using multi-sensory, age-appropriate Teaching-Learning Materials (TLMs). Techniques to identify early learning difficulties and strategies for effective intervention were also discussed in depth. The training emphasized the importance of nurturing a joyful, responsive, and stimulating environment that supports holistic development in young learners.
Educators teaching middle and senior classes delved deep into the integration of digital tools and blended learning models, designing competency-based assessments aligned with Bloom’s Taxonomy for encouraging critical thinking, creativity, and collaboration in learners. Sessions also focused on building emotionally supportive classrooms that promote resilience and empathy while encouraging learning.
The sessions also encouraged self-reflection, with teachers identifying areas for personal and professional growth. Observer Principals from participating schools enriched the experience of the teachers by offering constructive feedback and sharing insights based on classroom realities.
Principal-cum-A.R.O. Mrs. J.K. Sidhu acknowledged the enthusiasm and openness displayed by the educators. She emphasized that future-ready classrooms require teachers who are not only skilled but also adaptive, innovative, and empathetic. She remarked that programs like these are essential in helping educators move beyond conventional teaching, embracing their role as facilitators who ignite curiosity, nurture values, and prepare learners for a rapidly evolving world.
