Capacity Building Program(Day-1)

A two days' 'Capacity Building Program' (CBP) for the teachers of PB Zone F, under the aegis of DAV Centre for Academic Excellence, New Delhi, commenced at DAV Public School, BRS Nagar, Ludhiana. This program aimed to enhance the teaching competencies of educators in the subjects of English, Mathematics, Political Science, and the Foundational Wing (EEDP-1), fostering their professional development and equipping them with cutting-edge pedagogical tools to meet the demands of contemporary education.
Around 180 teachers from various DAV schools, including those from DAV, Pakhowal Road, Ludhiana; Police Lines, Ludhiana; Khanna; Nawanshahr; Malerkotla; Chanarthal Khurd; Jagraon; Kotkapura; Jaitu; and the host school, took part in this enriching experience. The presence of Principals from the participating schools as observers added an invaluable layer of insight and expertise. Their active involvement and suggestions further aligned the training sessions with the evolving needs of the educational landscape.
The master trainers, through a dynamic and interactive approach, introduced innovative teaching methodologies such as Enquiry-Based, Project-Based, and Experiential Learning. These approaches were designed to transform classroom teaching, making it more engaging and effective. Art Integration was taken up as a creative strategy to help students grasp complex concepts through visual and performing arts. The trainers also emphasized the importance of aligning assessments with ππ₯π¨π¨π¦'π¬ πππ±π¨π§π¨π¦π² guiding teachers in designing questions that promote higher-order thinking and problem-solving skills. Moreover, the focus on competency-based assessments, in alignment with the New Education Policy (NEP), encouraged teachers to assess students' real-world application of knowledge and preparing them for the challenges beyond the classroom.
Besides academics, the program underscored the importance of nurturing essential values such as empathy, teamwork, and critical thinking in students, encouraging teachers to foster these traits to ensure holistic development.
Principal cum A.R.O., Mrs. J.K. Sidhu, in her eloquent and inspiring address, welcomed the master trainers and participants, highlighting the transformative power of such capacity-building programs. She emphasized that continuous professional development is the cornerstone of educational excellence and vital for navigating the complexities of 21st-century classrooms. She stressed that teachers must not only stay updated with the latest pedagogical innovations but also evolve as facilitators of learning who can inspire and engage diverse learners. By embracing new pedagogies and adopting a growth mindset, teachers can unlock their students' full potential, shaping them into capable, empathetic, and innovative individuals.
