BAISAKHI CELEBRATIONS

And get joyous and celebrate life.”
School celebrated Baisakhi with gusto and religious fervour. A special cultural program was organised to celebrate the onset of harvest season.
Baisakhi marks the beginning of Sikh New Year and has special significance as it is celebrated as the foundation of the Khalsa Panth.
The Bhangra performed by the students was a vivid portrait of the life of the farmers who toil day in and day out to provide food to the country and even generate foreign income to support the roboustic economy. All were left spellbound by gatka( traditional martial art form) performance of the young students.
The students were also apprised about the religious, cultural and historical significance of the festival through enlightening speeches and influential poems . Punjabi culture was brought alive on the campus through different stalls displaying various objects related to culture and lifestyle that included Punjabi Dhaba(Jalebi, pakora) Parandi, Phulkari, Bangles etc.
The motive behind the celebrations was to apprise the students of the rich culture and heritage of Punjab to inculcate love and respect for their own traditions and resolve to continue to protect the unique fibre of the state.
Principal Mrs. J. K. Sidhu conveyed her best wishes to all and blessed everyone and prayed for the joy and prosperity of everyone.
