The festival of Raksha Bandhan was celebrated with great joy in the DAV Public School, BRS Nagar today. The students of Classes III to V prepared attractive rakhis and the students of Classes VI and VII prepared rakhi thalis. The self- made rakhis were very beautifully presented along with the other auspicious items like rice, sindoor, sugar, etc. in plates.
Eco club students prepared Eco rakhis crafted from natural and sustainable materials like jute, cotton, and seeds of pumpkin, coriander etc. which can be planted in the garden. Girls tied rakhis on the wrists of support staff to celebrate Raksha Bandhan.
They also tied rakhis to the trees to celebrate 'VrikshaBandhan' and took pledge to protect trees. This activity aligns with sustainable development goal no.12 – Responsible Consumption and Production.
The rakhis prepared by the students were also sent to the ITBP Camp Badhowal as an expression of gratitude for the armed forces personnel for their significant role in safeguarding frontiers of our country and ensuring peace in our lives.
Principal Mrs. J.K. Sidhu expressed her happiness and appreciated the efforts of the students. She also extended her greetings to the staff and students on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan.
