Election for the top positions in the Student Council (2023-2024)

The election for the top positions in the Student Council for the session 2023-2024 was held in the school premises today. The objective of appointing the Student Council is to provide a platform to the students to develop leadership qualities by organizing and carrying out school activities and projects.
The entire election process was conducted in a democratic way. Nominations were taken for the post of Head Boy and Head girl. The nominees were interviewed and judged on their class performance, co-scholastics records, and for participation in school events. The short listed candidates prepared their Election Manifestoes and chose their Election Symbols from the symbols of SDGs given by United Nations. They were given good time to do door to door convassing in the classrooms of classes IX to XII.
Today on the day of polling, the voters from these classes excitedly voted for the candidates of their choice. It was a novel experience for all the students and an air of excitement engulfed the whole campus.
Selfie points highlighting the importance of voting were created. A sense of respect for the process of voting could be seen during the entire election process. Ballot boxes were sealed in the presence of the contestants by the presiding officer and counting of votes will be done on Saturday. Principal Mrs. J.K. Sidhu congratulated the organising team for the smooth conduct of the whole process in a democratic way, teaching the students the value of each vote. She gave her best wishes to the contestants.
