Teej Festival

The School celebrated ‘Teej’ with great pomp and show on 07-08-2014 (for senior wing). The school wore a festive look when the students came in bright traditional attire. They participated in the celebration with great enthusiasm and tapped their feet to the tunes of the popular numbers. In the senior wing, the title of ‘Miss Teej’ was bestowed on Taranpreet Kaur of X-B and Shamsheer of IX-F was the runner up. They were adjudged on the basis of their dresses and performance. A few more competitions like ‘Mehandi competition’ , ‘Turban Tying’ , and ‘Paranda Braiding’ were also organised on this occasion. Ritika of VII-A won the first prize in the ‘Mehandi’ competition and Akanksha of X-D and Sanya of VIII-G were the runners up. Karanveer Singh grabbed the winning position in ‘Turban Tying’ contest while ‘Pranda Braiding competition’ was won by Tanvi of class X-D. Later the students feasted upon sumptuous dishes like ‘Kheer and Malpuras’. The Principal of the school Mrs.J.K.Sidhu pressed the need of celebrating such festivals with gusto as they acquaint the students with their rich culture and tradition and connect them to their roots.
Students of KG Wing celebrated Teej on 8thAugust, 2014 with pomp and show. Pre-Primary wing wore a festive look as it was beautifully decorated with flowers and phulkaries. Students looked vibrant in traditional Punjabi outfits. The function saw students dancing on punjabi beats and relishing Kheer, Malpuras and Ghewar.
