DAV BRS Nagar today organized a mega vaccination camp on the campus for protection against COVID-19, for the students in the age group of 15-18 years. This was in sync with clarion call of Govt. of India to vaccinate all the children in the above age group. The camp was inaugurated by Dr. S.P. Singh, Civil Surgeon, Ludhiana and Mr. Rakesh Jain ji, Member Local Managing Committee of the school. Dr. Puneet Juneja, SMO, Incharge Koomkalan, played a pivotal role in helping the school organize this camp.

The camp was organized in collaboration with the District Health Department, under which a 4 member team of Mobile Medical Unit from Civil Surgeon’s Office carried out the vaccination drive. Apart from the students, the parents of the students who had their second dose due also became the beneficiaries of this camp. Approximately 400 students from classes IX to XII got vaccinated along with a good number of parents and guardians.

Dr. S.P. Singh, Civil Surgeon, Ludhiana, interacted with the students and emphasized that vaccination is the only armor to protect self and others from this pandemic. Apart from following the COVID protocol of wearing mask and maintaining social distancing, we must make vaccination drive of the government a huge success to protect ourselves and our near and dear ones from this virus.

Principal Mrs. J.K. Sidhu expressed her heartfelt gratitude to Dr. S.P.Singh, Civil Surgeon, Ludhiana, Dr. Puneet Juneja, SMO, and the Mobile Medical Unit team that carried out the vaccination drive. She also thanked Mr. Rakesh Jain ji, Member LMC who is always at the beck and call of the institution and the parents and the guardians who as responsible citizens came forward to make this camp a great success.
