CPR-Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation

Under the initiative of the Counselling Cell and the Health & Wellness Club, DAV Public School, BRS Nagar, Ludhiana organized an informative and hands-on session on CPR — Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation for the students of Classes IX, X, XI and XII (Medical Stream).
The session was conducted by Dr. Vikas Bansal, Senior Consultant Pediatric Intensivist, and Dr. Mehak Bansal, Senior Consultant Pediatric Intensivist & Pediatric Cardiac Intensivist , both from 🏥 Clio Mother and Child Institute, Ludhiana. ❤️ Dr. Mehak Bansal, a proud alumna of the school, added a special connect to the occasion.
The interactive training was aimed to equip students with vital life-saving skills and build confidence to act swiftly during emergencies. The doctors explained how to identify a cardiac arrest by checking the pulse 💓 and observing breathing patterns through nose airflow and chest movement. They also demonstrated the correct procedure for performing CPR — ensuring safety, checking for response and pulse, calling emergency services (📞108), and administering chest compressions to maintain blood circulation until professional help arrived.
⚡ Students were also sensitized about the use of AEDs (Automated External Defibrillators) , commonly available at hospitals, malls, airports, and railway stations, and were guided on how to handle choking situations effectively.
The hands-on practice session made the training engaging and impactful. 🌟💖
