Community of Practice Workshop in Chemistry

School hosted the Community of Practice (CoP) Workshop in Chemistry for the teachers of Senior Secondary on 23rd August, 2025, under the Community Circle Meeting programme of LSSC. The objective of the workshop was to discuss changes in the curriculum 2025–26, share subject-specific teaching strategies, and build a sustainable network for collaborative problem solving and professional support.
Teachers from 25 CBSE schools of the city participated in this collaborative platform where session moderators deliberated on the latest changes in the CBSE curriculum, pedagogical strategies, and assessment techniques in alignment with NEP 2020. The workshop also emphasized on the sharing of classroom best practices, the innovative use of technology, and effective teaching methodologies.
The session began with Session Moderator Mr. Swaranpreet Singh, PGT Chemistry, DAV Public School, CBSE Resource Person and Master Trainer DAVCAE introducing the Concept of Community of Practice under the LSSC programme. He also elaborated on the latest curriculum updates as per NEP 2020 and demonstrated several technological tools that promote hands-on learning, immediate feedback, and inquiry-based approaches. This was followed by sharing of best classroom practices by the delegates, which included lesson plans, storytelling, hands-on activities, and simulations that highlighted innovative approaches to engage learners effectively. In the concluding session, Ms. Sonika Jindal, Master Trainer DAVCAE, presented a sample pedagogical lesson plan and discussed its components in detail while emphasizing the integration of digital tools and interactive methods to enhance classroom teaching.
Principal Mrs. J. K. Sidhu appreciated the efforts of the moderators and participants for making the workshop an enriching experience. She emphasized that such collaborative initiatives play a crucial role in upgrading teaching methodologies and aligning classroom practices with the vision of NEP 2020. She further added that through collective learning and exchange of ideas, teachers can empower students with better conceptual clarity, critical thinking skills, and a love for science.
The workshop proved to be a valuable opportunity for Chemistry, PGTs to connect with peers, exchange best practices, and enhance their teaching competencies for future-ready classrooms.
