School today got honour of welcoming Swaranjit Savi - a famous poet, philosopher,painter, photographer and publisher. He was honoured in a glittering ceremony held in the school today for being a proud recipient of 'Sahitya Akademi Award ' for his book 'Mann Di Chip'. Swaranjit Savi has written many books and is also famous for his photography and artwork that captures diverse human emotions and experiences. Swaranjit Savi showed his paintings to the students, staff and the invited parents through the digital medium. He even shared his thoughts and emotions behind each painting and the depth of his ideas behind the wonderful paintings left the audience mesmerized. His paintings made it evident that he was deeply influenced by the thoughts of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji and was deeply connected with day to day life of an ordinary human. His poems wove a tapestry of wisdom that transported the audience to another world and made them experience different emotions in a short span of time. The students put some questions to him to gain insight into his perspective and personality. He very politely and patiently answered all the questions put forth by the students. The parents of the students who were part of this programme termed their experience of interacting with a writer and painter of his stature to be blissful and beyond words.
Principal Mrs. J.K. Sidhu presented a token of honour to Swaranjit Savi for his contribution to the creative fields of writing and painting. She thanked him and the parents for sparing their precious time out of their busy schedules to be amongst the DAVians and provide them with an opportunity to cherish all their lives.
