Students’ Initiative to Create Awareness for Remediation of Polluted Water Bodies

Under the endeavour of Government of India' Ek Bharat Shreshth Bharat’, our students participated enthusiastically in the project ‘ दरिया की चिट्ठी ‘-based on the pathetic condition of rivers of Punjab.
Students of classes 9th to 12th expressed the pain and agony of a river in their letters. Their letters voiced the callous and insensitive attitude of mankind in polluting the rivers. These letters along with a memorandum of creating mass awareness, taking stringent actions against the defaulters and setting up of more number of water treatment plants was presented to the Deputy Commissioner of Ludhiana, Mrs. Surbhi Malik.
She appreciated the efforts of the students and apprised them with the projects being undertaken and also the steps taken by the authorities. These letters have also been shared with different schools in Andhra Pradesh- paired state of Punjab.
