A Virtual National Sports Day was celebrated today at DAV BRS Nagar.This day is celebrated as the birth anniversary of the great legend Major Dhyanchand -the Indian Hockey Wizard.

The program began with an address by Sports Incharge of the school Kamaljeet Singh on the importance of games in our lives with special emphasis on significance of games in the lives of students. A PPT displaying the Major Dhyan Chand journey to success in the field of hockey was shown to the students .Speeches presented by students highlighting the role and contribution of the hockey super star and left everyone in awe.

Physical fitness is of utmost importance at all stages of life and games and sports hold a special attraction in students lives. Students enthusiastically participated in aerobics and races maintaining all the Covid guidelines. The excitement was evident on the faces of participants

A volleyball match was also organized between teaching and non teaching staff. The celebration of the day gave a message to one and all to come out in the ground and enjoy physical activities to the fullest.

Principal J.K.Sidhu in her address stressed upon the importance of physical fitness in every one ‘s life especially so in the current pandemic ridden times where mobility is restricted and strong immunity can keep everyone safe.
