Baisakhi Celebrations

Baisakhi, one of the important festivals of Hindus and Sikhs is celebrated on April 13 or 14 every year. It marks the beginning of Hindu New year and commemorates the foundation day of Khalsa Panth by the tenth Guru ji.

DAV BRS Nagar celebrated Baisakhi with great fervour through virtual  mode. Students participated in performing and visual arts according to their interests to mark this important day. Celebrations began with the invocation of Almighty through a shabad, followed by speech, poem and folk songs. PPTs on Jallianwala Bagh massacre and Baisakhi fair were shown to apprise one and all with the significance and relevance of Baisakhi and rich cultural heritage of Punjab. Students dressed in traditional Punjabi attires danced to the tunes of folk songs and beats of dhol. Besides this, the students also presented shabads at  E- block gurudwara.

Principal, Mrs. J.K.Sidhu exhorted the students to stay rooted to their culture and be cautious in the times of Covid and follow the protocol at all times to ensure safety of the self and the loved ones. She applauded the  efforts of the students and encouraged them to make the values propagated by our spiritual leaders as their guiding stars at all times.
