Annual Prize Distribution Function - ‘Naye Aayam – Gandhi : then and now’

School organised its Annual Prize Distribution Function today. Deputy Advocate General, Punjab, Mr. Ramdeep Partap Singh, was the Chief Guest and Padma Bhushan Dr. S.S. Johl, Vice Chairman school L.M.C presided over the function. In addition to Prof Dr (Mrs) Ajay Sareen, Manager of the school, members of the school LMC, Principals of various DAV schools and other invited dignitaries attended the program.
The event began with a formal lamp lighting ceremony followed by an invocation to Lord Ganesha. There after the Principal, Mrs. J.K. Sidhu, presented the ‘Preamble of Achievements’ of the school in academics, co-curricular activities and sports.
The program titled ‘Naye Aayam – Gandhi : then and now’ highlighted the significance of Gandhian Philosophy in 21st Century wherein the students pledged to put his philosophy into practice and create a new India where opportunities are aplenty for one and all and vices find no place.
The Chief Guest Mr. Ramdeep Partap Singh gave away the prizes to more than 600 students for their excellence in different fields. Stream wise toppers of the school received cash awards.

Khushboo Sharma of class X, School and District Topper, received Malkit Singh Sidhu Memorial Gold Medal, constituted by the family of the Principal, Mrs Sidhu, in the memory of her husband. The pride of the prize winners and their parents narrated their satisfaction on receiving the rewards and awards for their hard work.
The Chief Guest in his address appreciated the zeal and enthusiasm of the staff and students under the able guidance of Principal Mrs. J.K. Sidhu in scripting the success story of the institution. He coaxed the students to work hard to bring name and fame to their families and alma mater and quoting his own life he said that blessings of Almighty coupled with hard work can take an individual to the heights of glory.
The Manager of the school, Dr. (Mrs) Ajay Sareen was all praise for the prize winners and the meticulously put up spectacular cultural extravaganza.
She thanked the Chief Guest, the dignitaries, LMC members, the parents and the members of print media for gracing the occasion and supporting the institution in all its endeavors.
