The school organised several activities to mark the 550th Birth Anniversary of Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji. The event was graced by Dr. Harpreet Singh, Principal, GGNIMT, Mr. Gurmeet Singh Ji from ‘Sarab Rog Ka Aukhad Naam Mission’, Mr. Ravi Kant Gupta Ji, member LMC, Mr. Surinder Pal Singh Chawla(President) Gurudwara Shri Guru Singh Sabha, E-Block, BRS Nagar, Ludhiana along with other committee members. It was a unique experience for one and all when the day started with recitation of ‘Mool Mantra’ by the tiny tots of classes I and II followed by Japji Sahib Path by 550 students. The chanting of the Path lent unique peace and tranquility to one and all on the campus and everyone could feel the blessings of the Almighty from the heaven above.
The school had organised ‘Shabad Gayan’ for the students and the melodious rendition by the students left everyone spellbound and helped them establish a connect with the divine. The students of classes V to XII had different activities to take part in and the Gurbani based Poem Recitation Contest apprised one and all of the teachings of the Great Guru who promoted humanity and equality in the world at a time when it was most needed in the society.
The boys participated in the ‘Turban ‘Tying competition and the way they methodically tied their turbans in crisp layers that too within a short time surprised everyone. The judges of both the competitions had a tough time in deciding the winners as all the participants had put their best foot forward. A special visit was also organised for the students of classes PreKG – II to Gurudwara Manji Sahib at Alamgir where they were acquainted with the teachings of Guru Nanak Dev Ji.
