Gender Sensitivity is of paramount importance to create a balanced society where we find every child vulnerable to any kind of exploitation. Keeping the need in mind, School took a timely step by introducing 'Gender Sensitivity Club' for students of classes VIII-XII. Renowned Gynaecologist /Obstetrician Dr. Neelam Sodhi inaugurated the club and delivered a lecture on menstrual hygiene to about 60 students of the club. While stressing on doing away with the taboos associated with this biological process. She asked the girl students to prepare themselves to meet with this monthly cycle by bringing about food and exercise changes to manage the body aches.
In her interactive session she asked the students to be vocal about issues concerning them and asked the boys to be more compassionate towards their female counter parts and asked all of them to be frank to discuss these issues to change the mindset of the society and create a congenial environment for optimum growth of both the sexes. The students put forth their problems to find the solution for the same from the expert.
Principal Mrs. J.K. Sidhu appreciated the knowledge possessed by the students on the issues concerning them and thanked Dr. Neelam Sodhi for the session that helped students come out of their cocoon and shed the myth related to gender issues prevalent in the society.
