The Students and the staff of DAV Public School BRS Nagar contributed in great measure to be a part of cleanliness Drive for Swachh Bharat. The two week long campaign started on 1^st September, 2018 with Swachhta Shapath Ceremony where the students and the teachers took pledge to maintain their surroundings and render their time for making Ludhiana clean . Thereafter on everyday basis activities were conducted on the campus to create awareness and a cleanliness drive in phases was carried out in and around the campus fulfilling the social responsibility.

The Support Staff of the school was once again apprised of the importance of segregation of waste for optimum utilization of resources and following the 3Rsi.e reduce, reuse and recycle. Videos on recycling of water were shown to different classes and importance of tree plantation, a major step towards maintaining healthy environment. In order to include swachhata in day to day life of the students , events like poem recitation , essay writing , quiz and painting competition based on the theme of health , hygiene and cleanliness were also organised.

A Health checkup for the students and the support staff was organised where the doctors addressed the issue of maintaining hygienic surroundings. Experts from PAU delivered a talk on Health and Nutrition.

Principal J.K. Sidhu expressed her satisfaction at the keen interest taken by all stakeholders in making the campaign a great success at the school and city level.
