The school organised Annual Prize Distribution Function today.
Dr. A.K. Sharma, Vice President, DAVCMC, New Delhi and Ex-Director NCERT was the Chief Guest of the function on the theme Vasudhaiva Kutumbhakam, where Regional Director Cum Manager Dr. S.K. Arora and several other dignitaries were the Guests of Honour.
Principal Mrs. J.K. Sidhu accorded a formal welcome to the Chief Guest, all the dignitaries and the parents. She read out the annual report that gave glimpses of the achievements of the students in academics, sports and co-curricular activities at different levels. The function began with invocation to the Almighty for harmony and tranquility in the environment. The message of unity despite of diversity was given through the history of the world from the separation of the continents to get the present shape of the world. The sync and balance of the five elements of the earth for peace and tranquility was stressed through five elements dance.
The school played its role of giving a message and creating awareness about the role of humanity for creating a better world for all to live in. The projection of the problems of deforestation, exploitation of labour and smog made everyone take a pledge to contribute for the conservation of environment. Classical dance presentation gave message of oneness of humanity. The dance forms of various countries blended into one fine performance received huge applause from the audience who remained glued to their seats till the end.
The Chief Guest Dr. A.K. Sharma gave away prizes to 352 students for their excellence in academics, sports and co-curricular activities. The Chief Guest specially lauded Gunpreet Kaur, State Topper of Non-Medical stream who has been invited by Ministry of Human Resource Development to witness Republic Day Parade in Delhi. In recognition of her exceptional achievement, Gunpreet Kaur was awarded cash prize of Rs. 11000/- by the school. Dr. A.K. Sharma in his address appreciated the efforts put in by the Principal, staff and students for the excellent cultural programme and remarkable results that speak volumes about the dedication at all levels. He said that if all the educational institutions inculcate the right values in the students then most of the problems of the world will be wiped out and we will realise our dream of a happy world. He highlighted the role of a teacher in nation building and exhorted the teachers to rise up to the duties assigned to them.
Sh. S.K. Arora read out the vote of thanks and thanked Dr. A.K. Sharma for his presence on the campus to give direction to the working of the school to scale greater heights and saluted the spirit on the campus where all strive for excellence.
