Punjabi Teachers Get Tips From CBSE Expert in One Day Capacity Building Programme (Punjabi)

The school today played host to one day capacity building Programme for Punjabi teachers teaching Punjabi at secondary level.
Mr. Prakash Singh Gill, HOD (Punjabi) of Guru Harkrishan Public School, New Delhi and member of CBSE curriculum committee was the resource person of the workshop. Around 50 teachers from DAV institutions of Punjab participated in the workshop aimed at apprising the teachers about handling the latest changes in the syllabus of class 10th and conducting speaking and listening test in Punjabi introduced by CBSE.
It was an interactive workshop where teachers put forth their queries to the resource person and got detailed answers to satisfy them. Mr. Prakash Singh Gill stressed on the need to make the students well versed with their mother tongue and to give them the competencies to express themselves in grammatically correct Punjabi with appropriate usage of vocabulary.
The expert highlighted the purpose behind introducing the assessment of speaking and listening Punjabi language and motivated the teachers to play their role effectively in developing proficiency in spoken Punjabi in their students. He said that every teacher needed to be a great Lerner for effective teaching. The participants were happy to get the opportunity to interact with an expert of the subject having real classroom experience as his forte.
Principal, Mrs. J.K. Sidhu while thanking the source person that with spoken English dominating our lives , it has become a duty of Punjabi teachers to cultivate love for Punjabi in their students to keep them rooted to Punjabi cultures and traditions.
