A group of students from DAV Public School, BRS Nagar, Ludhiana today met Additional Deputy Commissioner Ludhiana, Ms. Surbhi Malik and gave a representation in support of ISHA Foundation’s Nation -wide campaign ‘Rally for Rivers’- an initiative of Sadguru Jaggi Vasudev to rejuvenate dying rivers of our country. Starting today with “STAND FOR OUR RIVERS”, the rally will be formally flagged off on 3-sept-2017 from Coimbatore and reach Delhi on 2-Oct-2017.

The students offered voluntary services to clean Water Bodies of Ludhiana. The students shared that they have already worked as ‘Water Warriors’ under a project on Water- Conservation, along with International Partners of the School.

The students, while talking to ADC Ms. Surbhi Malik, shared with her the work already done by them at school level to conserve water & offered to contribute services in reviving ‘Sutlej’ river which is the life line of Punjab. They plan to keep it perennial & save it from all kinds of pollution & turn Buddha Nallah into a fresh water channel to help fish species thrive in its water.

The ADC appreciated the efforts of the school under the steward-ship of Principal Mrs. J.K. Sidhu and added that the contribution of the children for the noble cause will carry the message to every household to make it a project close to the heart of Ludhianavis & give a fresh life to the water bodies in & around Ludhiana.
