Jasmeek Kaur Sekhon, a student of Class XII (Humanities) of our school has made DAVians proud by getting first position in 42 km group race in 'Khelo India Women's Cycling League Zone 1' held at Cycle Valley Road, Ludhiana from November 12 to November 13, 2022 and in the 'Junior Women Road Time Trial Event' of 17 km.
These events are being organized all over India by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Cycling Federation of India with the support and nod of Government of India.
After this victory, Jasmeek is participating again in similar events to be held in Panipat Zone next week.
Jasmeek gives credit of her success to her elder brother, Harshveer, who keeps motivating her to work hard and stay focused to accomplish her goal. She also expressed her gratitude to the school Principal, Mrs. J.K.Sidhu and the teachers, who helped and supported her in every way to reach this point.
Principal Mrs. J.K. Sidhu congratulated Jasmeek, her parents and her coaches on her remarkable achievement. She felt very proud of Jasmeek’s achievements and wished her all success in the cycling competition to be held next week and hoped that she would bring laurels to herself, her family and the school in her future endeavours.
