In order to create social awareness about the importance of trees for preserving the environment ,the students of DAV Public School, BRS Nagar, Ludhiana carried out a Tree Plantation Drive under the able guidance of Principal Mrs. J.K. Sidhu. 30 students along with three science teachers and the Principal Mrs. Sidhu planted 31 plants near the market of F-Block, BRS Nagar. The move was aimed at celebrating Van Mahotsva 2017 to replenish the Mother Earth. The children showed great enthusiasm as they knew their hardwork would recharge ground water, prevent soil erosion and make the planet greener. Teachers explained them the need of protecting the trees as if they are felled down, it can adversely affect the environment. Principal Mrs. J.K. Sidhu appreciated this initiative taken by the children and highlighted the role of students in making the people aware about maintaining environmental balance. She said that this endeavour would help connect students to Mother Nature and foster environmental stewardship.
