The school celebrated ‘Teej Fest’ with great pomp and show. The school wore a festival look with beautiful swings bedecked with flowers. The children in their colourful attire added to the festivity. Many fun filled activities and competitions were organized for the children.
The Giddha performed by the girls from VII-X was enjoyed by one and all.
There was a Mehandi competition also in which girls applied intricate patterns on the palms.
Boys from classes IX-XII participated in the Turban Tying Competition.
The girls and boys from classes X to XII took part in ‘Punjabi Mutiyaar’ and ‘Punjabi Gabru’ competition. The judgement of this competition was based on the traditional dresses and a question answer session regarding the Punjabi Culture. Children savoured traditional dishes like Kheer, Malpura, Sweet Rice and Gulgulas.
Mahima of XII Medical was adjudged ‘Punjabi Mutiyaar’ and Ranpreet Singh of XII Non-Medical was crowned ‘Punjabi Gabru’.
Principal Mrs. J.K.Sidhu said that by celebrating such festivals the students imbibe the rich cultural values of our state and these also give us a glimpse of our rich heritage.
