Two-Days Capacity Building Programme for teachers of Pre-Primary and Primary level

Right type of childhood education can make the human beings good citizens in real sense of the word and as a result, a better order of society can be built. So it is imperative that all schools across the country provide holistic learning opportunity to their learners. Responding to this need, a two-day Capacity Building Programme for teachers of Pre-Primary and Primary level on ‘Effective Implementation of Early Education Development Programme’ was organised on 26-07-2015 & 27-07-2015 at DAV Public School,B.R.S. Nagar,Ludhiana.
This programme was organised by Regional Training Centre(Jalandhar zone), under the able guidance of Mrs. P.P.Sharma, the Regional Director(Jalandhar, Gurdaspur & J&K zone). 76 teachers of Pre-Primary & Primary level of D.A.V. Public School, B.R.S Nagar, Ludhiana attended the programme.
The resource persons were Ms. Jyoti Singh Gulati from Police D.A.V. Public School, Jalandhar, Mrs. Gurvinder Bir Kaur from DRB D.A.V. Cent. Public School, Batala, Ms. Ravinder Chawla from D.A.V. Public School, B.R.S. Nagar, Ludhiana and Mrs. Purnima Khanna and her team of teachers from D.A.V. Public School, Lawrence Road, Amritsar.
They stressed the need for the tiny-tots to be well trained in various skills so that it would help them at the later stage as pre-primary stage is the most impressionable stage and if we can fine tune the minds of these tiny-tots, we are sure to reap a rich harvest of academically sound, socially responsible and professionally excellent breed. They touched all the areas like developing listening, speaking, reading and writing skills of the child. They also had a discussion on curriculum planning, evaluation and assessment of various skills. It was an interactive workshop wherein the teachers participated enthusiastically and sought answers to their queries.
The Principal of the school, Mrs. J.K.Sidhu thanked the resource persons and said that this workshop would help the teachers to understand the learner in a better way. She said that organizing such workshops and programmes is the need of the hour as they go a long way in dealing with the tender minds and contribute a lot in the growth of society at large.
