Awareness Talk on Pediatric Cancer

DAV BRS Nagar organised an awareness talk on Pediatric Cancer in collaboration with Lions club Ludhiana as a part of Cancer Awareness Month. Dr. Gaurav Mittal a renowned pediatrics and neonatologist was the speaker of the day. He is known for his patient friendly and patient centric clinical approach and for delivering high quality of ethical professional services to all patients.
Dr. Gaurav apprised the audience comprising of parents of students of classes 1 and 2 and other dignitaries from Lions Club, Ludhiana with common cancers in community and myths and taboos related to cancer. He also highlighted the symptoms, preventive measures and techniques of treating cancer. He gave some important tips to prevent cancer like weight control, sedentary lifestyle, healthy dietary practices, frequent intake of fruits and vegetables and also stressed upon the need of vaccinations against Hepatitis B and HPV (prevention of cervical cancer) to save the lives of people.
Principal J.K. Sidhu thanked Dr. Gaurav Mittal for sparing his valuable time and educating the community towards lifestyle choices. She emphasized that it’s the responsibility of the parents to inculcate healthy eating habits amongst the children right from the childhood and wished everybody to ‘Stay Happy, Stay Healthy '.
