Seminar on 'Fundamentals of Action Research’

DAV BRS Nagar organized an insightful seminar on ‘Fundamentals of Action Research’ for the teachers of secondary and senior secondary classses. Dr. Harpreet Singh, Principal, GHG Khalsa College, Gurusar Sadhar, Ludhiana was the key-note speaker of today’s seminar.
Dr. Harpreet Singh stated the importance of Action Research that allows teachers to study their own classrooms—for example, their own instructional methods, their own students, and their own assessments—in order to better understand them and to be able to improve their quality or effectiveness.
He added that teachers' main focus should be on objectives and learning outcomes of teaching a particular concept. He further emphasized the need to have stress-free environment in our classes. For this he suggested developing a healthy rapport with the students and including an element of piety in duty. He also suggested framing of mini projects for students as per their interest and calibre which would give them a sense of accomplishment on completion. Dr. Harpreet Singh also suggested some sources for framing and designing of projects for various subjects.
Principal J.K.Sidhu thanked Dr. Harpreet Singh for sparing sometime from his busy schedule to share his valuable inputs on basics of Action Research with teachers. She assured him that his idea of designing and assigning mini projects would be implemented in the classes in the better interest of learners.
