Rakhi Exhibition displaying handmade Rakhis by the DAVians
Event Start Date : 14/08/2019 Event End Date 14/08/2019
In the wake of increasing incidents of kidnapping DAV BRS Nagar took the lead today in safeguarding the lives of young girls under its care. The auspicious festival of Rakhi was celebrated in a unique way under the able guidance and far sightedness of Principal Mrs. J.K. Sidhu.
Rakhi symbolizes the bond of love between a brother and a sister under which a brother vows for the safety of his sister. However in the present scenario, the increasing incidents of crime against children especially the girls are compelling the guardians/ elders to put on their thinking caps and ensure their safety. The educated members of the society are busy finding ways and means to check this problem.
The festival of Raksha Bandhan has immense possibilities in creating a congenial and safe environment for the girls and keeping this in mind the school organized Rakhi Exhibition displaying handmade Rakhis and the young girls out of the safe zone of their homes tied Rakhis to their bus drivers and conductors who promised to ensure their safety on the way to school and back. The immense feeling of love and respect of the girls towards their transporters was heart touching.
Principal J.K. Sidhu in her address stressed that this unique endeavor will not only strengthen the bonding between drivers and conductors and the students commuting in their buses but will also motivate them to be their guardian angels and this pioneer step will lead to the opening of a new chapter of faith and trust in today’s world ridden with doubt and suspicion.
