D.A.V. BRS Nagar campus was abuzz with activity as its pretty damsels and young 'gabrus' reported in colourful traditional Punjabi attires to celebrate Teej in all its fervour. The school was tastefully decked up with swings attracting all the students to enjoy and colourful phulkaris adorning the walls and the shoulders of the girls lent vibrance to the campus.

The school organised Mehandi application, Paranda braiding and Miss Teej Competitions under co-curricular activites of ‘Hub of Learning’ where students of 5 other schools of the city and nearby areas participated in vying not only for top honours but also exhibiting deep knowledge and understanding of Punjabi culture. The boys of the school participated in Inter House Basketball and Volley Ball Matches to ensure their participation on this joyous day. The students enjoyed giddha, singing Punjabi folklores and swinging on the bedecked swings to the fullest. It was a treat for the eyes to see the young girls carrying the traditional attire with elan and grace.

The judges of the competition were Ms. Jatinder Sekhon, Dean Co-curricular activities and Ms. Manpreet Kaur, Asstt. Professor and Incharge Music Club from GGN College of Boys. They appreciated the zeal and enthusiasm of the participants and the efforts made by the school in keeping the students rooted to their culture and in keeping the traditions alive in this age of westernization.

The intricate designs of Heena left the judges speechless. They were all praise for delicate patterns adorning the hands of the delicate beauties and the finely braided parandas. The result of the competition is as under:
