Leaders are not born but made by their experiences in life. To inculcate the leadership qualities in the students and to give them a feel of functioning of the administrative body, School Council of schools is formed.
The Investiture Ceremony of the newly elected student council of DAV Public School, BRS Nagar, Ludhiana for the session (2019-20) was organised. The ceremony was presided over by Mr. Rahul Sohu, IRS who is currently working as Deputy Director, Enforcement Directorate, Income Tax, Jalandhar. The newly chosen Head Boy Shubhan Dua (XII HUM) and Head Girl Sejal Garg (XII NM) had a gala entry into the auditorium, holding the school flag, beaming with pride followed by House Council members carrying their respective house flags to the stage. The event was attended by the parents of post bearers, students from IX-XII and teachers.
The Chief Guest administered the oath of office to the members and decorated them with sashes and badges. In his address, he appreciated the efforts made by the school to give opportunities to the students and prepare them for life. He also congratulated the newly appointed council members for their preparedness to take responsibilities. He asked the students to use these opportunities and balance them well with academics and excel in both. He also urged them not to measure success in terms of money but to aspire for happiness. The Head Boy and the Head Girl, in their respective speeches promised to maintain the dignity of position and be available to all and provide equal opportunities to all the students on the campus to excel in diverse fields.
Principal Mrs. J.K. Sidhu inspired and encouraged the elected leaders to be dutiful and responsible in their discharge of duties. She thanked the Chief Guest for presiding over the ceremony and felt that the presence of such an illustrious dignitary would motivate the council members to work conscientiously for the roles assigned to them.
