Celebrating the festivals in style is the forte of Punjabis and when it comes to Baisakhi, enthusiasm is all the more. Keeping true to the spirit of Baisakhi, the campus of DAV Public School, BRS Nagar was abuzz with activity as the students of IInd Std. came dressed up in traditional Punjabi attire to showcase Punjabi culture.

The depiction of a field with standing ripe wheat crop was soothing for the eyes. The scene of a typical Punjabi village was a feast for the eyes as it brought rural Punjab alive on the campus.  The game of Kabaddi and other rural sports depicted by the children were enjoyed by all. Main attraction of the day was various stalls of Punjabi Jutti, bangles and Parandas put up by the tiny -tots. Jalebis and pakoras, the special food for Baisakhi was relished by the students in the company of their teachers while performing Giddha and Bhangra.

Principal J.K Sidhu, in her address highlighted the importance of this festival and apprised the students with the history of Sikhism as it was on the Baisakhi day, when Guru Gobind Singh ji founded Khalsa Panth. She also reminded one and all of Jallianwala Bagh massacre and this made all bow their heads in reverence to the martyrs. She appreciated the endeavour of the students and the teachers for painstakingly bringing the spirit of festival alive.
