A century ago, hundreds of innocent people lost their lives at Jallian wala Bagh  for raising their voice in favour of ‘Free India’ and we owe our freedom to these martyrs.

Various activities were organised during this week in DAV BRS Nagar to apprise the students about the sacrifices made by the martyrs to enable us to be citizens of free India.

The sombre activities began with special speeches   every morning by the teachers and students related to the freedom struggle. Apart from this students made collages and posters depicting the atrocities committed on innocent Indians who raised their voice against the oppression.

The activities culminated today with the unfurling of Tri colour by Madam Principal followed by recitation of patriotic songs and role play depicting the entire horrific incident. Principal J.K. Sidhu in her address emphasized the need to remain loyal to one’s motherland while progressing in the journey of life in all other spheres. She also lauded the efforts made by the students under the guidance of their teachers in recreating the entire hair raising episode that touched the heart of one and all present.
