An enlightened individual spreads his knowledge around and makes others be the torch bearers in the times to come. Today the students of classes VI-VII of three D.A.V. institutions of the city along with the students of Baba Isher Singh Public School participated in a rally to create awareness about water conservation and harmful effects of using plastic. The rally also aimed at garnering support for ‘Aan Milo Dariyaon’ a project to save Buddha Dariya of the city.

The students were holding beautifully written messages to spread the message for need of water conservation far and wide. The students raised slogans to hammer their point in the minds of the common people and thus save the elixir of life. One time use plastic has become a menace and the younger generation is steadily becoming aware of it and wants the people to minimize its use and thus become responsible enough to know their duty towards the mother earth.

The students walked through D, E and G blocks of BRS Nagar spreading the message loud and clear. It was invigorating to see the residents coming out of their homes and promising to contribute in the noble cause. Member LMC DAV Public School, BRS Nagar Ravi Kant Gupta flagged off the rally and accompanied the students along with the principal J.K. Sidhu and the members of teaching faculty. If the students fulfill their social responsibility like this, we can certainly hope for a better tomorrow.

Principal J.K.Sidhu stressed the need for participating in such awareness campaign to get the support of general public and widen the base for environmental and social reforms.
