DAV BRS Nagar observed ‘Ved Prachar Saptah’ under the aegis of Arya Pradeshik Pratinidhi Upsabha, Punjab from 27^th August to 1^st September 2018. The celebration got traditional beginning with sacred lamp lighting by the Principal J.K. Sidhu.

Each day began with a Dainik Hawan and the students of the school recited Mantras and learnt important values of life. This was followed by explanation of Ten Principles of Arya Samaj by the students of different classes. Importance of being polite and humble was stressed upon through couplets and causes of social evils and measures to eradicate the same were discussed in a talk show.

A short skit exhorted the students to weigh each action of theirs on the basis of ethics. Poem recitation, speeches & hymns encouraged the students of direct their energies towards physical, spiritual and social growth for a prosperous nation, where its youth is physically and mentally healthy.

The concluding day of celebration was marked with declamation contest in English, Hindi and Punjabi. The winners of declamation contest are Chahat Grewal, Vaishali Jain and Sargun in English, Hindi and Punjabi respectively.

Shastri Ji in his lecture apprised the students of the power of ‘OM’ and stressed on the basic principle of Indian culture which expects youngsters to give due respect to their parents and teachers. He also highlighted the importance of yoga for leading a healthy and stress free life.

Principal J.K. Sidhu congratulated the staff and the students on successful completion of ‘Ved Prachar Saptah’ and termed it as a step-towards creating a civilized and ethically strong society.
