There is a feeling of pride and gratitude in every heart for the Independence Day that reminds us for the sacrifices of countless men and women to win freedom for the country. The campus of DAV Public School, BRS Nagar, was decked up in tri colours to celebrate the great day in life of each Indian.

Dr. Gurpreet Kaur, Chief Judicial Magistrate and Secretary Legal Services Association, Ludhiana unfurled the national flag to commemorate the day. The students informed the gathering about the great freedom fighters and their role in national struggle. The dance presentation on united India and synchronized Yoga, Karate and Skating to the tunes of music stole each heart. Glory of India and her forte of unity in diversity were well presented in the group song.

The Chief Guest Dr. Gurpreet Kaur in her speech asked the students to beware of divisive forces that are harming the social, political and religious fabric of India and demean the stature of India. She encouraged the students to contribute for the overall progress of the country by being men and women of substance and caliber.

Principal Mrs. J.K. Sidhu thanked the Chief Guest and lauded the role of judiciary in safeguarding the interests of the common men and added that if each Indian was law abiding then freedom of the country would automatically get safeguarded. She said it is our duty to work for a united, strong and progressive India to pay the real tribute to the martyrs. She exhorted one and all to perform their duties to realise the dream of glorious India as envisaged by the freedom fighters. The Principal also announced introduction of two new clubs namely Financial Literacy and Entrepreneurship club and Legal Literacy Club. The Legal Literacy Club will be formally launched on 16^th August. These clubs will go a long way in promoting proper finance management and creating awareness about rights and duties amongst the students.
