Right type of education can make the human beings good citizens in real sense of the word and as a result a better order of society can be built.  So it is imperative that all schools across the country provide holistic learning opportunity to their learners. Responding to this need, a three day capacity building programme for EEDP was organised under the aegis of DAV Centre of Academic Excellence, DAV College Managing Committee, in DAV BRS Nagar from 6^th July, 2018 to 8^th July 2018. 117 teachers from DAV Schools across the region attended the session. The resource persons for EEDP- I were Mrs. Anuradha Grover from DAV Public School, Lawrence Road , Amritsar, Mrs. Ravinder Chawla from host School and Mrs. Sangeeta Mahindroo from DAV Public School, Pakhowal Road , Ludhiana. The resource persons for EEDP- II were Mrs. Alka Behl from DAV Public School, Lawrence Road , Amritsar and Ms. Tanu Gupta from Police DAV, Ludhiana and Mrs. Babita Katyal from host School. The training programme aimed at fostering creativity and organizing varied activities for gifted and slow learners. The workshop conveners stressed on imparting value education and socio emotional development of children.

The delegates participated whole heartedly as the resource persons conducted the interactive sessions interspersed  with activities like story telling sessions, activities based on how to develop language and also interesting activities related to ’Multiple Intelligence’ .

They stressed on the need for enhancing the performance of the students so that we can reap a rich harvest of academically sound, socially responsible and professionally excellent race. They touched all the areas of curriculum ranging from nursery to class II. The teachers participated enthusiastically and sought answers to their queries.

The Principal of the school, Mrs. J.K. Sidhu thanked the resource persons and said that this workshop would help the teachers to understand the learner in a better way. She emphasised that organizing such workshops and programme is the need of the hour as they go a long way in dealing with the tender minds and contribute a lot in the growth of society at large.
