It is imperative to be in touch with one’s own divinity and it is all the more essential in today’s fast paced world where everyone is busy running a mad race of materialism. Responding to this need, a ‘Mind Control and Training Session’ was organized today in D.A.V. B.R.S. Nagar, Ludhiana.

Swami Omkarananda Saraswati along with Swami Vivekananda Saraswati conducted the session which was attended by the students of classes IX and X. Swami Omkarananda Saraswati, a motivational speaker who has penchant for transforming lives, in a very interactive manner, stressed upon the need to have a control over our minds.

He said that daily practice of meditation energizes us and enables us to tap our higher level of energy and consciousness. While talking about the power of ‘OM’, he talked about the changes a person experiences with the chanting of ‘OM’, which aids in greater focus, creativity, self-awareness and a peaceful and calm frame of mind. He quoted great leaders like Dr. Radhakrishnan and Dr. Abdul Kalam who had a humble beginning and made it big in their lives owing to their determination. He inspired the students to dream big and to do self-analysis to overcome their shortcomings. He said that ‘Art of Man-Making’ is more important than ‘Art of Money-Making’ because if character is lost, everything is lost.

Swami Vivekananda Saraswati of Patanjali Yoga Peeth exhorted the students to compete with self and not with others for better performance. It was an interactive session where the students participated enthusiastically to make best use of the techniques of Yoga taught to them. Swami Ji asked the students to practice ‘Pranayam’ on regular basis for purification of mind and body. He reminded the students about their role in building a prosperous India.

Principal Mrs. J.K. Sidhu thanked the speakers for broadening the horizon of the students and for training them to be aware of their divine being.
