Two-Days Capacity Building Programme for teachers of Pre-primary and Early Primary level on 'Effective Implementation of Early Education Development Programme'

In the present era, it has become imperative for all the schools to provide holistic learning opportunities to their learners and to give them quality education. Responding to this need, a two- day Capacity Building Programme for teachers of pre-primary and early primary level on 'Effective implementation of Early Education Development Programme’ was organised on 30-05-2017 and 31-05-2017.This programme was organised by Regional Training Centre under the able guidance of DAV Centre for Academic Excellence, New Delhi. Around 100 teachers of Ludhiana zone attended the programme.
The resource persons were Mrs. R. Chawla, Ms. Silky Kaur, Ms. Ranjita Kamal, Mrs. Tajinder Kaur and Mrs. Priya Kapoor.
They stressed the need for the tiny-tots to be well trained in various skills so that it would help them at the later stage as pre-primary stage is the most impressionable stage and if we can fine tune the minds of these tiny-tots, we are sure to reap a rich harvest of academically sound, socially responsible and professionally excellent minds. They touched all important areas like How to develop pre-reading skills and motor skills of the child, How to teach Handwriting and How to teach Rhymes/poems to the tiny-tots. They also had a discussion on ‘Code of conduct for teachers’ and ‘Students’ advice for teachers’. Ice-breaking activity (Hello Song, god’s love and it’s a beautiful day) was also carried out.
An informative video on ‘what makes you great’ was also shown to the teachers. It was an interactive workshop wherein teachers participated enthusiastically and sought answers to their queries. An inspirational movie ‘Nil Battey Sannata’ was also shown to the delegates by the Principal of the host school Mrs. J.K. Sidhu. She also thanked the resource persons and said that this workshop would help the teachers to understand the learner in a better way. She said that organizing such workshops and programmes is the need of the hour as they go a long way in dealing with the tender minds and contribute a lot in the growth of society at large.
