Annual Function 'Ecstacy' for Class VI

Annual Function is the day looked forward to by one and all and when it is of a particular class the enthusiasm of the students knows no bounds. The School today organized 'Ecstasy', the annual function of class VI where all the students of class VI participated in the cultural programme revolving around India – our motherland.
Padma Bhushan Dr. S.S. Johl, Chancellor, Central University, Punjab, was the Chief Guest of the function. The audience tapped their feet to the folk dances of Rajasthan, Goa and Gujrat and enjoyed the different hues of Indian culture. The thought provoking choreography on conservation of nature, projection of Architectural wonders of India, English and Hindi plays gave the message of humanity and secularism as way of life. The role – play on Women Empowerment inspired awe at the tremendous progress made by women in diverse fields.
Dr. S.S. Johl in his address lauded the efforts made by the students under the able guidance of their teachers in presenting a wonderful Cultural Programme that rightly projected the different dimensions of India, making it stand a class apart. He in his address reminded the students of the rich legacy of DAV that they had to carry forward and encouraged them to act as sentinels of the mother earth at all fronts, as a generation of involved, aware and active youth can transform the destiny of a nation. 152 students scoring A+ Grade received trophies from the hands of the distinguished Chief Guest making their achievements all the more special. 10 students getting Gold Medals in different Olympiads conducted by SOF also received trophies. The achievers motivated others to excel in order to receive honours in future.
Principal Mrs. J.K. Sidhu, thanked the guests for sparing time out of their busy schedule to be amongst the students to motivate them for achieving greater heights with determination, courage and hard work. She congratulated the students and the teachers for putting up a wonderful Cultural Programme and thanked the parents for being with the school at all times. The function concluded with a choreography on Indian achievers and achievements that was enjoyed by one and all.
