“World Asthma Day” is a big event celebrated all over the world to increase the awareness among public worldwide about the precautions and preventions of Asthma. This event is annually organized on international level by the Global Initiative for Asthma (GINA) on first Tuesday of May month. The school also took the opportunity to organize this day on 2-may-17 and invited concerned doctors to hold an interactive session with the students.

Doctor Gurpreet Singh (Senior Consultant and Joint Coordinator) from Sat Guru Pratap Singh hospital was the resource person. A team from Cipla company was also present on this occasion. Dr. Gurpreet Singh enlightened the students about Asthma management techniques. He had an informative talk in which he apprised the students of various ways and means of controlling it. He also highlighted the use of inhalers. The students participated enthusiastically and had their queries answered satisfactorily.

The principal of the school Mrs. J.K. Sidhu thanked the guest of the day and said that Asthma management requires collaborative efforts of the patients, care takers, health professionals and heath care systems. She hoped that the information given by Dr. Gurpreet Singh would be helpful for the students.
