Education is not confined to learning facts and figures but aims at all round development of the students. A good system of education recognizes, polishes and then provides suitable platform to exhibit ones talent. Keeping true to this maxim, school today organised an exhibition titled ‘Panorama’.
Dr. (Mrs.) Satwant Kaur Bhullar, Principal DAV Public School, Pakhowal Road was the Chief Guest and Miss Manmeet Sodhia, Director, Ivanna Institute of Fashion Technology and Hotel Management was the Guest of honour of the exhibition, where creative work of the students done round the year had been displayed under one roof covering the subjects of Maths, Science, Social Science, Fine Arts, Knitting and Craft Work, to name a few.
The exhibition also had the foot fall of officials from Vardhaman Wollen Mills, Ldh. who were on the campus to see the knitting expertise of the students. The experts were left awestruck to see the knitted mats, caps, mittens made by the students under the project ‘Knit Bonding’ to revive the dying art of knitting amongst the younger generation.
The chief guest and the dignitaries while taking round of the exhibition venue appreciated the efforts put in by the students under the guidance of their teachers. The creative and colourful models were a proof of the expertise of the students and painstaking efforts put in by them which genuinely deserved applause.
While a live show on growth of human civilization was a great crowd puller, the models depicting architectural wonders of the world left one and all awestruck. Different complex mathematical concepts seemed easier through 3 dimensional models. Role plays on Ramanujan’s and Shakuntla Devi’s contribution to Mathematics were also there. A unique hydraulic lift for conservation of electricity and an exercising cycle for generating power for cold storage to save food were other showstoppers.
The parents visiting the exhibition felt proud of their wards and appreciated the efforts put in by the school. Principal Mrs J.K. Sidhu lauded the efforts put in by the students and the teachers to put creativity on display. She encouraged the students to avail of the opportunities made available by the school to hone their skills and make a mark in life.
