School played host to DAV National Sports (U-19) Cluster Level, Judo Championship for Boys and Girls on 18-10-2016. Various schools from Ludhiana, Jalandhar and Gurdaspur zone participated in the Championship. The officials for the Championship were Mrs. Sonia, SAI Coach Judo, Mrs. Navdeep Jindal from Punjab Sports Department, Mr. Gurpartap Singh, National Level Judo player from SAI and Mr. Abhay Chaudhary. Dr. Anu Verma, Principal, Police DAV Public School, Ludhiana was the official observer of the championship.
The participating teams gave a tough time to their counterparts in all the rounds. It was a nice display of strength and moves by the participants to leave one and all awestruck.
The officials appreciated the zeal of the participants and exhorted them to continue to practice to achieve higher goals.

Principal Mrs. J.K. Sidhu, gave away the prizes to the winners and thanked the officials for sparing their valuable time to be part of the championship and giving a fair judgement to equally good teams. She in her address highlighted the role of games and sports in leading a healthy and disciplined life.
