Dainik hawans carry a lot of significance not only for individuals performing and participating in it but also for the purification of the environment. This is the reason that most DAV institutions begin the day by performing yagna.
The school organized '21 Kundiya Yagna' to mark the inauguration of the newly constructed Yagyashala by Sh. Punam Suri Ji - President DAV College Managing Committee, New Delhi and Arya Pradeshik Pratinidhi Sabha, New Delhi.
The School Campus was beautifully decorated with hawan mantras, flags and buntings to create the right atmosphere for such an occasion. The whole campus was reverberating with melodious OM Dhwanis. The school lawn with the 'Yagyashala' in the midst presented a pious look. Built in Octagonal shape, open from all sides it beckoned one and all to pray to the Almighty and seek His blessings.
All the 21 hawan kunds were tastefully decorated and the pious fire burning in all the hawan kunds invoked the blessings of the Lord Almighty to be with DAV fraternity through all times. The main hawan kund had Sh. Punam Suri Ji, Madam Mani Suri Ji, Mr. Rajan Gupta IPS, Executive Director, DAV University Jalandhar, Dr. Satish Sharma, Director Colleges DAVCMC, New Delhi and Dr. B.B. Sharma, Manager cum RD of the school as the 'Yajmanas'. Students from different classes accompanied by their teachers were the 'Yajmanas' for the other 20 hawan kunds. Apart from this, the ceremony was attended by students of the senior section and their parents. The fragrance of hawan samagri wafted through the entire campus to make one and all feel the connect with the God. The bhajans sung by the students lent a serene ambience to the entire campus.
After the successful completion of the hawan Sh. Punam Suri Ji congratulated the school administration, principal, staff and the students for the construction of 'Yagyashala'. In his addressed he explained that Yagya means performing a task for the welfare of all with sincerity and purity of thoughts. He emphasized on the importance of yagna and highlighted the role of DAV institutions in imparting moral education to the students in the technology ridden world where machines are overpowering mankind and humanity.
The ceremony was well attended by LMC members, Principals from various DAV institutions of Punjab, Heads of various Arya Samajs and the parents of the students.
Dr. B.B. Sharma, Manager cum RD of the school proposed vote of thanks and encouraged the students to seek blessings of Almighty God and the elders for successful careers. Principal Mrs. J.K. Sidhu thanked Sh. Punam Suri ji and the other dignitaries for taking out time from their hectic schedules to be a part of such a sacred ceremony on the campus. She assured one and all to carry on the legacy of DAV institutions in inculcating religious and moral values in the DAVians.
