Lord Krishna the messenger of action and duty is dear to all and his birthday calls for glittering celebrations all around. Following the tradition DAV campus reverberated with the beats of Mere To Girdhar Gopal' and 'Maiyya more main nahin makhan khayo' to mark the birthday celebrations of Lord Krishna. The primary wing students came dressed as Radhas and Krishnas. The celebrations began with 'Dahi Handi Competition' where young Kanhas vied with one another to claim the dahi and be victorious.
The tableaux put up by the teachers and the students gave a peep into Lord Krishna's life history and sustained their interest. Dance show put up by the students compelled all to tap their feet to the melodious Krishna Bhajans.
The main attraction of the entire celebration was rocking the cradle of baby Lord Krishna. The lesson of service to mankind was given to the students and students vowed to rise above relationship to discharge their duties in the interest of the larger humanity. Little Sudama gave lesson of the friendship rising above the bars of social and economic status.
Principal, Mrs. J.K. Sidhu, appreciated the efforts of the teachers who walked an extra mile to create Mathura on the campus to bring that fervor on the campus. She highlighted the importance of such festivals to promote secularism on the campus.
