Inter School Basketball Tournament was held in the school today in the memory of Master Darpan, who was snatched by the cruel hands of death in the budding stage. Parents of the child instituted this tournament in the memory of their loving son on his birthday and made it a point to be there all through to witness the action on the field.
Total 7 teams from different schools of Ludhiana participated in the tournament and it was lot of action on the field where each team competed with one another to make it to the finals.
The final match was played between DAV Public School, BRS Nagar, Ludhiana and DAV Public School, Pakhowal Road, Ludhiana and both the teams sweat on to give their best. It was a neck to neck competition throughout where it was difficult to pin point the winners. Team from DAV Public School, Pakhowal Road, Ludhiana emerged as winners. Parents of Darpan relived the moments with their child by being with his classmates who were the special spectators of the event.
Principal, Mrs. J.K. Sidhu, lauded the winners and appreciated the sportsman spirit of the participating teams. She talked about Darpan’s achievements during his lifetime in the school and thanked the parents for their co-operation in this noble venture.
